Day Hike / Bushwalk

Saturday Morning Solitude

After a week of spending a whole lot of time sitting in traffic, in front of a computer, and kid wrangling, I was in need/want of some time out. So, I packed Mr 4 off for a play with his cousins and went for a walk in the You Yangs.

I started at Turntable car park, walked along the Saddle and joined the East West walk, and walked anti-clockwise back to the Turntable carpark. It took just over an hour (with lots of photo stops), and was a great way to clear my head, and get moving. There’s a point (just before joining the East-West walk) where there’s a calf burner of a hill (it’s over pretty quick – even though it’s usually in full sun, making it HOT), and some fun rock hopping on the East West walk. And the best bit? Apart from a small group of Trail Runnner’s I didn’t see anyone else – even though the carpark was close to full!

Not taking any chances in the perfect snake weather!

Now, back at home I feel energised, happy, and (almost) ready to take on the housework.

Have you booked in some time to yourself this weekend? There’s still time – even if its just for an hour – you’ll thank yourself later.
