This morning saw me up and out early, and back to the Otway’s (for the 3rd Sunday in a row…).

Last week, as we were leaving, we saw a sign…

great ocean road hiking

…and I’ve been thinking about it all week! So…I just HAD to check it out.

I parked at Distillery Creek picnic ground (just inland from Airey’s Inlet) – this walk starts just to the left of the toilets. Round trip it was just over 15km.  There were a few small hills (though they seemed bigger on the way back when I was getting tired), but overall it wasn’t too tough.  I usually prefer circuit walks, but this was a beautiful walk – and when I started getting a bit tired it was nice to know how far I had to go. It was the longest hike I’ve done in a while (since my plantar fasciitis come along) – and I loved it!

A treat for you: my fave part of the hike.

If you have a fave walk in the Otway’s please let me know – I’m keen to check out more of this beautiful part of the world (that’s so easy to get to from Geelong).
