As I boarded the plane to Mexico, my focus was on how I could help. How, by being part of such an important program, it would make a big impact in the everyday lives of the people we would be meeting.

Not long into being there, however, it was very clear that I was going to learn a lot from the people in the communities – the very people I had come to help.

As they shared their vision with us, my head was brimming with how I could relate this back to my own life. And how I’d still been afraid to really stretch myself (in case I didn’t quite make it).
